2023 Symposium on the Application of Functional Materials in Furniture and Household Industry is co-sponsored by Shanghai New Materials Association, Shanghai New Materials Association Special Committee on Antibacterial and Epidemic Prevention of New Materials, Shanghai Jiecon Chemical Hi-tech Co., LTD., China Furniture Association and Shanghai Bohua Exhibition Co., LTD.
It will be held on the morning of September 13, 2023, at the 28th China International Furniture Exhibition.

Zhao Lei, general manager of Swiss Sanitiai Co., LTD., made a speech on "The necessity of mite prevention in mattress". Zhao said in his report: "The size of mites is only 0.1-0.5mm, which is invisible to our naked eye, but mites are everywhere. For example: mattresses, home decor, bedding, carpet MATS, etc. A seemingly "clean" bed can have millions of mites. And the excrement of mites (DerPl) is one of the important causes of allergies. Severe cases can even cause respiratory diseases such as asthma. Therefore, more and more furniture brands are starting to realize the need of anti-mite."

Xiao Huisheng, technical director of Shanghai Antimicrobial-yarn New-material Co., LTD., made a speech on the development and application of anti-mite and anti-antibacterial polyester fiber yarn in the furniture and home industry, mainly introducing the company's functional masterbatch and its yarn application in the home textile, furniture and home industry. At present, antibacterial polyester masterbatch, antibacterial nylon masterbatch, antibacterial polypropylene masterbatch, anti-mite and antibacterial polyester masterbatch, anti-mite and antibacterial nylon masterbatch and so on had been well used.

Mr. Chen Jian from SGS made a special report on "Testing and Evaluation of anti-virus, anti-mite and anti-odor performance of furniture and home products", which introduced the testing standards and testing methods of anti-mite, anti-virus and anti-odor performance in detail.

Professor Ma Zhengsheng from Shanghai Jiecon Chemical Hi-Tech Co., LTD./Shanghai Guofan Chemical New- Material Co., LTD. made a speech entitled "Development of strong/long-term antibacterial/anti-mite mattress fabric", reporting the progress of strong/long-term antibacterial/anti-mite mattress fabric developed by the company in recent years, focusing on the concepts of "strong" and "long-term".
